Located in Maria Luisa Park, the Plaza de España was built in 1928, because of the World´s Fair that was taking place next year. The Plaza de España was the principal building in the park, and it was designed by Anibal Gonzales. It was designed to exhibit the industry and technology of Spain.
The Plaza de España displays many beautiful bridges and a large fountain. The building combines Art Deco from the 20´s and a funny style of Mudejar together with Neo-Mudejar.
Nowadays the building homes government agencies, including the Sevilla Town Hall.
