Bridge of the Alamillo

Bridge of the Alamillo The Bridge of the Alamillo was designed since 1989 by the Architect Santiago Calatrava and its construction finished in 1992. The Bridge crosses the Guadalquivir River and it has roadways for both pedestrian and motor traffics.

The initial purpose of the architect was to build two mirroring bridges: one bridge would cross the Guadalquivir and the other one would span the Meandro de San Jeronimo near the city of Sevilla, and both bridges would be connected by a 1 mile long viaduct; but the project couldn’t be finished due to its high costs.
