Bridge of the Barqueta

Bridge of the Barqueta The Bridge of the Barqueta (spanish: Puente de la Barqueta) is a suspension bridge with a flying central arch rising from the vertex of two lateral triangular frames. The construction of the bridge was in charge of the prestigious engineer Juan Jose Arenas de Pablo with the purpose of linking the historic Sevilla city and La Cartuja Island, and giving access to the Expo '92 fair (International Exhibition of 1992).

Today the bridge spans 168 meters over the Guadalquivir River and itís the main entrance to the Isla Magica theme park and Sevilla Technology Park. The Bridge of the Barqueta is an emblem of the city and has two lanes of traffic in both directions, two pedestrian walkways at the ends and a great illumination at night.
