Convent of San Antonio de Padua

This Franciscan convent was founded in 1596 by Fray Buenaventura Calata Girona. The Convent of San Antonio de Padua church is the artwork of architect Diego López Bueno, in 1627, and because of his dead, the work was finished by architect Andrés de Oviedo in 1650. The convent is a domicile of the Brotherhood of Good End.

Convent of San Antonio de Padua The church consists of three ships divided into 4 divisions with crosses, presbytery and choir. Its central ship is upped with surmounted arches supported by abutments and wide pillars.

The church is full of many magnificent frescoes, statues and paintings. To mention at least one, there is the main altar-piece which is a work of Bernardo González and Mateos Bermuda that originated in the Convent of San Felipe de Neri (1706).
