Amate Park

The Amate Park (Parque Amate) is one of the most visited green areas in Sevilla. It is located among the neighborhoods of Amate, Rochelambert, Santa Aurelia and Juan XIII. Many people visit this park, because it is the perfect place for those who want to spend a quiet and friendly moment away from a bustling city.

Amate Park Construction works began in 1974 and it finished in 1987, year that it was inaugurated. The Amate Park covers an area of 316.800 m2, and you can find a sport centre with many sport fields to practice football, futsal, handball and football 7. There are also two athletic tracks to practice athletics and other sports.

The Amate Park is structured by a central axis, along which one can find a semicircular square, which is the major attraction, and a large pound which is also used to irrigate the gardens.

The large number of plants that one can find in The Amate Park is impressive, some species of plants include: Australian acacia, olive, canary palm, white poplar, elm, Japanese plum, cypress, jacaranda, apple blossom, mulberry, date palm, etc.
